Hon. Dr. Mary M. Mwanjelwa is the
Founder & Executive Chairman of Mbeya Women Trust Fund Foundation and
current Member of Parliament, Special seat from Mbeya Region (Ruling
Party-CCM).
She is a talented versatile
generalist with extensive experiences and highly exposed internationally as
well as in public community,communications/corporate relations, government
relations, strategic management events managements, management and
administrations without forgetting the community touch etc.
Has been giving out presentations as
co-speakers in international forums i.e ACP/EU Women Forum (79 countries). Has
been actively involved in this career profession cadre for more than 7 years
before being a Parliamentarian.
She is the African Parliamentarians
Network Against Corruption Tanzania Chapter President, she serves as an
Executive Board Member for Africa of the same organization, she also serves as
Deputy Secretary General of Women Parliamentarians in Tanzania, she is also CCM Member of the National
Executive Committee, and she is also Board Member of National Institute of
Medical Research (NIMR) with Ministry of Health. She was in the Advisory
Committee Member in the Hunting Blocks. Allocation in the Ministry of Natural
Resources & Tourism as well as in the small Parliament committee of
Operation Against Poaching in Tanzania.
Before being a Parliamentarian Dr.
Mary Mwanjelwa was a Director for Population services international Tanzania
and served as a Board Secretary as well from 2006-2010 – it's a Global Fund project
under the Ministry of Health.
Prior to that she worked for Afrika
Mashariki Gold Mine (Placer Dome-Canadian Mining Company) now known as Barrick
Gold as a Liason Manager from 2001-2005.
She is currently persuing her
Doctorate Degree at the Open University of Tanzania, “ Effect of Good
Governance in Local Government”. In 2010
she was awarded the Honorary Doctorate (PHD) in Humanity by California Seminary
University (USA) United Graduate College & Seminary; after engaging so much work of humanity/community.
She is also a Masters Degree Holder
in Mass Communication from St. Augustine University – Tanzania.
She is a Post Graduate frorm the
Centre For Foreign Relations-Kurasini, Dar es Salaam – Tanzania in
International Relations with Diplomacy Management.
She is a mother of two boys.
